DP Gachagua: Our Government is Stable, We are Working Well with President Ruto.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says the Government is stable adding that he has a good working relationship with his boss President William Ruto.

Speaking in Kesses Constituency, Uasin Gishu County, on Sunday, May 26, the Deputy President said he is focused on helping the President deliver his mandate.

“We are working well with the President, and our government is stable, and we are continuing with our work. He has enabled me to do my job,” Gachagua stated.

He added, “The President is a leader who unites people, a leader without tribalism, and a leader who sits down with his people. The section of our community that was misled about the President is the one I have been bringing together behind President William Ruto, and I will continue to bring them together.”

He called on leaders to preach peace and unity among Kenyans from all walks of life and focus on service delivery. Reports of a strained relationship between Gachagua and his boss Ruto emerged after the former missed several key state events prior to the president’s travel to the United States for a four-day State visit.

Gachagua later explained that he was in the heart of Mt. Kenya for prayers to reflect on the state of the nation.

The Deputy President also seemed to confirm reports of building tension with his boss on Saturday, May 25 after claiming a section of leaders close to President Ruto was trying to mislead him.

He alleged that some Rift Valley leaders were interfering with the leadership of Mt Kenya even going ahead to demand respect.

“The problem is that we have a section of Rift Valley leaders who have proximity to President Ruto who are trying to interfere with the leadership in Mt Kenya. We ask for respect,” an infuriated Gachagua said.

A section of leaders also allied with the Deputy President led by Governor Mutahi Kahiga maintained that they won’t allow Gachagua to be humiliated in this Government.
