59-Year sentenced to 15 Years for Defiling 10-Year

59-Year-Old Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Defiling 10-Year-Old Girl

A Kiambu court has sentenced a 59-year-old man to 15 years in prison for the defilement of a 10-year-old girl.

The court learned that Joseph Makangu committed the crime between December 2022 and January 2023 in Gituamba village, Kiambu County.

The prosecution presented five witnesses, and prior to sentencing, a victim impact statement revealed that the girl’s social life was adversely affected, leading to complications in her private parts.

Additionally, she suffered psychological effects, resulting in a decline in her academic performance. The court ordered that the girl receive specialized treatment and counselling.
