Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has launched a fiery attack on the Kenya Kwanza government, unleashing bombshell accusations that Ksh20 million earmarked for a crucial project in her constituency has mysteriously disappeared—allegedly hijacked by top Treasury officials.
Speaking in a dramatic press briefing on Wednesday, April 9, Wamuchomba pointed a bold finger directly at the Treasury Principal Secretary, accusing him of diverting funds meant for fencing the Githunguri Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Institute in 2023.
Her words were nothing short of thunderous:
“Thieves are hiding in the Treasury! That Ksh20 million was for Githunguri TVET—now it’s gone without a trace! If I’m lying, arrest me today. But if I’m right, then someone at the top must face the music,” she declared, daring the authorities to take action.
But the scandal doesn’t stop at corruption—Wamuchomba is now fearing for her life. She dropped another bombshell after appearing before the DCI on April 7: “There are hitmen being deployed by politicians to silence us. I’m not safe. If anything happens to me, Kenyans should know who’s behind it,” she warned, visibly shaken.
This fiery uproar comes hot on the heels of her controversial “Ruto Must Go” remarks, which triggered a summons from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations just days before President Ruto’s planned visit to Githunguri. In a viral video, Wamuchomba urged her constituents to boycott the rally, accusing the government of empty promises and failed development pledges.
In yet another revelation, she accused her predecessor of illegally interfering with constituency projects through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), claiming he enjoys state protection while delivering no tangible results to the people.
