Chaos in Mombasa as Armed Men Allegedly Attempt to Abduct MP Peter Salasya in Shocking Hotel Raid!

Mumias East MP and 2027 presidential hopeful Peter Salasya escaped what appears to be a brazen, illegal abduction attempt at a Mombasa hotel—an incident that’s being widely condemned as an outrageous attack on democracy.

According to WamuziNews.co.ke, a swarm of mysterious, masked men dressed in plain clothes stormed the premises where Salasya was residing. Strangely, their vehicle had no number plates, and none of the so-called officers produced any identification—fueling widespread speculation that this was no routine police operation, but a sinister plot.

Video footage flooding social media shows a tense standoff: visibly armed men—some masked, some in questionable police uniforms—are surrounded by furious locals and Salasya supporters demanding answers. Defiant chants echoed:

You cannot arrest Salasya!
A gun will not silence us!

The men were eventually forced to retreat to their unmarked car, as chaos and confusion erupted around the hotel.

The motive behind the attempted arrest remains unclear, and authorities have yet to provide any official explanation or warrant to justify the ambush.

Taking to his social media on Saturday, May 10, Salasya didn’t mince words:

This wasn’t an arrest. It was a criminal operation masquerading as law enforcement!
He went on to brand the act as “unconstitutional, cowardly, and a disgrace to our nation’s democracy.

Salasya, who recently declared his presidential candidacy on April 28, has been outspoken in his criticism of the current administration. He now believes the incident was part of a larger scheme to intimidate him into silence.

To those behind this madness: You will not silence me. You will not break me. No threat, no ambush, no fake officers will stop my mission to liberate this country from oppression,” Salasya thundered.

The MP has now called on law enforcement to publicly identify and investigate those behind the operation and to explain who sanctioned such a blatant violation of due process.

This comes amid a heated political climate, with Salasya joining a growing list of heavyweight contenders for the 2027 presidency—among them Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Rigathi Gachagua, Fred Matiang’i, Okiya Omtatah, and former Chief Justice David Maraga.

Salasya has vowed to tighten his security and will kick off his campaign trail in Siaya this June, undeterred and more determined than ever.

The people’s voice will not be kidnapped. Kenya belongs to all of us.

Stay tuned for more updates as this explosive story continues to unfold.
