Transfer: Following the Napoli striker’s transfer request, Chelsea is once again interested in Osimhen.

Chelsea are ready to ramp up interest in Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, after he handed in a transfer request over the weekend, according to The Evening Standard.

The Blues were on the verge of signing Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion for €40million, but that deal has collapsed.

Osimhen has a release clause of €130m in his current contract and wants to leave Italy this summer.

Chelsea have previously held talks with Napoli over a potential swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku.

Napoli would sanction Osimhen’s exit but only if they receive an offer close to his release clause.

However, Osimhen has made it clear he wants to leave as sporting director Giovanni Manna confirmed over the weekend:

“Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go.

“The situation is clear, there were already chances for his exit last summer. Victor wants to leave. We will see in the next 20 days.”
