SHOCKING: High School Student Shot Dead as Protest Turns Deadly in Elburgon!

A Form Three student from Elburgon DEB Secondary School lost his life after allegedly being shot by police during a protest near Elburgon Police Station on Friday, March 14.

The demonstration erupted as residents voiced outrage over the mysterious death of a well-known mechanic, Godfrey Ngugi (popularly known as FB), who had been missing since March 9 before his body was discovered.

Witnesses claim the student’s body remained by the roadside for hours before officers finally transported it to Molo Sub-County Mortuary.

Tensions ran high for over two hours as angry protesters clashed with police, hurling stones and attempting to storm the police station, which they suspected was linked to Ngugi’s death.

To disperse the crowd, officers used tear gas and allegedly fired live rounds into the air, with one bullet fatally hitting the student.

Frustrated residents expressed their growing fears over insecurity in the region, recalling a similar case in January when activist Richard Otieno was killed. They demanded urgent investigations and accountability.

“This is the second youth we’ve lost in just a month! And now, this student was shot right outside the police station. What’s happening in Elburgon? Where are we headed?” questioned distressed locals.

Molo MP Kuria Kimani condemned the killings, calling for a swift and transparent probe into both the student’s and Ngugi’s deaths.

“These incidents are deeply regrettable and go against the principles of peace and justice. I have engaged the relevant authorities to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted immediately,” stated the MP.

Kimani urged the community to remain calm and avoid resorting to mob justice, warning that retaliatory violence would only escalate tensions and hinder the pursuit of justice.
