Ruto Hits Back Hard – “You Think a Slogan Can Kick Me Out?”

In a fiery and defiant response, President William Ruto has delivered a bombshell to his political rivals: he’s not going anywhere. Amid rising chants of “Ruto Must Go” echoing across the political landscape, the head of state has thrown down the gauntlet—slogans won’t shake the State House.

Addressing a charged crowd in Nyatike, Migori County on Monday, May 5, President Ruto stunned many with his brutally direct remarks, mocking the opposition’s rallying cry and accusing them of being empty vessels with no vision for Kenya’s future.

“Before you shout ‘Must Go,’ bring something to the table. Show us your plan. ‘Ruto Must Go’ won’t build roads, won’t power homes, won’t feed families,” the President snapped, visibly animated as he outlined sweeping development projects across Nyanza.

Standing shoulder to shoulder with Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko, Ruto vowed to electrify over 25,000 homes in the county by November 2025 and inspected the ongoing Sh47 million construction of the Oria Fresh Produce Market in Uriri, destined to house more than 300 traders.

In a statement that left no room for doubt, the President challenged his opponents head-on:

“You want to remove me? Bring your track record. Let the people decide based on development—not drama. This government isn’t built on hashtags or roadside noise.”

The bold declarations came barely 24 hours after a dramatic gathering of anti-Ruto forces at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s residence in Wamunyoro. There, Gachagua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and other opposition figures resurrected the battle cry: RMG—Ruto Must Go.

Kalonzo, rallying the youth, claimed that “millions are rejecting Ruto’s leadership,” and hinted at a looming opposition masterplan to mobilize fresh blood into their ranks.

But Ruto isn’t flinching. If anything, the political storm appears to be fueling his resolve. As the chants grow louder, the President is daring his critics to try harder—and to bring more than just catchy slogans to the battlefield.

The 2027 showdown has officially begun, and by the look of things, it’s going to be an all-out war.
