Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has made a shock declaration — he’s going for the top job in 2027! That’s right, the flamboyant young legislator is officially throwing his hat into the presidential ring, and Kenyans are stunned.
Early Monday morning, Salasya dropped the unexpected announcement, stating that after intense soul-searching and consultations, he has decided to take the bold leap. The MP, known for his charisma and unpredictable moves, didn’t hold back:
“My fellow Kenyans, the time has come. After evaluating the state of our nation, I have resolved to run for President of the Republic of Kenya in 2027,” Salasya declared with unshaken confidence.

Also eyeing State House are Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah and former Chief Justice David Maraga.
