RAILA ODINGA’s ODM Reveals 2027 Strategy: Endorsement of President Ruto’s Re-Election Bid
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s ODM has announced its intention to support President William Ruto’s re-election campaign in 2027. This revelation was made by Kisumu County Senator Tom Ojienda, who stated that a strategic agreement between Ruto and Raila for the upcoming elections has already been established.
As Ruto prepares to defend his position in 2027, all eyes are on Raila to determine his choice of support or if he will enter the race himself. Currently, Ruto is collaborating with ODM after establishing a broad-based government, fueling speculation about a potential alliance between the ruling party and the opposition for the next elections.
Ojienda indicated that the support of ODM for Ruto’s second term is a plausible scenario. “ODM will back President Ruto for a second term, and I will tell you this: Senator Sifuna will be guided by the party leadership. I am confident that on February 28 of this year, Raila Odinga will become the CEO of the African Union Commission and relocate to Addis Ababa, while I will assist Senator Sifuna, advising him that our path in 2027 is to support William Ruto,” Ojienda stated in an interview.
