High Court Set to Decide Murder Case and Corruption Hearing Today

The High Court is set to issue directives today in a case concerning a man charged with the murders of four women allegedly abducted from Eastleigh late last year.

During the previous court appearance, Hashim Dagane, also known as Hashim Khalif, denied the charges in a virtual session.

He pleaded not guilty to the murders of Dahabo Daud Said alias Waris, Amina Dhahir, Musayba Abdi Mohamed, and Deka Abdi Noor Gorane.

The alleged crimes are reported to have occurred between October 21 and October 30.

The charge sheet states that Dahabo was killed on the night of October 21-22 in the Kyumbi area of Machakos County.

Amina and Musayba were also murdered that same night in the Parklands area.

The charge sheet further indicates that Deka was killed at Valley Heights Apartments in the Lavington area of Nairobi on the night of October 29-30.

Hashim had sought bail, but the Prosecution opposed the request, indicating they would submit an affidavit explaining their reasons.

The court instructed that this be done within seven days in preparation for today’s mention.

In a separate matter, the Sh1. 4 billion corruption case against former Kenya Ports Authority managing director Daniel Manduku is scheduled for hearing today.

According to the DPP, the case involves the procurement of concrete barriers with a total contract value of Sh1,420,730,721. 81.

The project, as stated by the DPP, was not included in the Kenya Ports Authority’s approved budget for the 2018-19 financial year and had not been planned by the authority.
