Gospel Star Ringtone Dragged to Court Over Shocking Sh50 Million Land Fraud Case!

Chaos in court as popular gospel singer Ringtone, real name Alex Apoko, lands in hot legal soup over a jaw-dropping land fraud scandal worth a staggering Sh50 million!

The once-celebrated artist, now at the center of a controversial criminal investigation, was hauled before Milimani Law Courts on Thursday, where he stood side-by-side with alleged co-conspirator Alfred Juma Ayora.

The two are accused of orchestrating a high-level scheme to dispossess a Nairobi businesswoman, Teresiah Adhiambo Odhiambo, of her prime Karen property — parcel number NAIROBI/BLOCK 99/142 — measuring nearly 0.2 hectares.

In a shocking twist, prosecutors claim the duo falsely insisted that Ringtone had been occupying the land for over two years, attempting to use adverse possession claims to snatch it.

Even more bizarre — Ayora allegedly swore a fake affidavit before a Nairobi advocate, claiming he’d lived on the land for two decades!

The web of lies doesn’t end there. Ayora also stands accused of filing a bogus affidavit in the Environment and Land Court, brazenly declaring long-term occupancy of Odhiambo’s land — all while she and the Chief Land Registrar stood as respondents in the case.

The scene in court was tense as both accused men denied every charge before Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego. The prosecution, however, wasn’t having it.

They strongly objected to Ringtone’s release on bail, pointing out that he had consistently failed to show up in court since March — raising serious flight risk concerns. The court was told Ringtone had skipped multiple appearances, even after an arrest warrant was issued in April.

His lawyer, Mr. Karanja, claimed the singer had been severely ill — first admitted at Nakuru County Referral Hospital, then later rushed to Trinity Care Centre in Ngong. But when the court demanded proof, things got even murkier.

The medical documents provided were swiftly rejected by Magistrate Alego, who questioned the legitimacy of the signatures and sources. “Who is John Mathenge, and how do we know he’s a doctor?” she asked pointedly.

The documents were dismissed as lacking credibility and declared inadmissible. As the courtroom gasped, the magistrate ruled that Ringtone must remain in custody until May 19, pending a pre-bail report.

Despite desperate pleas from his legal team to allow virtual attendance from his hospital bed, the court shut it down — slamming the door on excuses.

This bombshell case has now gripped the attention of fans, legal experts, and media houses alike — raising serious questions about celebrity privilege, land fraud, and the abuse of legal loopholes.Stay tuned to Wamuzi News Ke for exclusive updates as this explosive case unfolds.
