Gachagua Moves Forward After Impeachment, Sends Message to Ruto and MPs

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reportedly moved on after his impeachment. Kithure Kindiki was sworn in as the next Deputy President.

Gachagua promised to give President William Ruto space to work over the next three years. This promise comes despite Ruto’s quick impeachment last month. He advised Ruto to continue the progress in the fight against illicit brews. This is particularly important in the Mt Kenya region.

Gachagua called on the Head of State to consider delegating the duty to his deputy, Kithure Kindiki. This would ensure no illicit alcohol was sold to Kenyans. He expressed readiness to grant President Ruto adequate space to fulfill his promises. He also welcomed him back to Mt Kenya despite reports of orchestrating his impeachment.

Gachagua criticized the National Assembly for rushing the approval of the Coffee Bill. He urged lawmakers, particularly those from the Mt Kenya region, to hasten the disbursement of millions of dollars. The government owes this money to coffee farmers.
