Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County — In a chilling development that has left Kenya’s law enforcement deeply unsettled, a middle-aged Eldoret man received a parcel so grotesque it could hail from a horror film.
What began as a routine errand turned into a nightmare when he opened an envelope to find not a gift, but three human fingers—and six live bullets.According to police reports, the incident unfolded in broad daylight on Friday, August 8, when an unidentified stranger called the recipient, directing a boda boda rider to deliver the ominous envelope to his location at a local entertainment joint .
Expecting perhaps a benign package, the man stepped outside to receive it. Instead, he opened terror. Inside lay three detached human digits—from the left hand’s forefinger, ring finger, and little finger—alongside six bullets: four 7.62 mm rounds and two 9 mm rounds .

The scene triggered immediate alarm. Bystanders raised the hue and cry, and police arrived promptly. The severed digits were swiftly transferred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) morgue for identification, while the bullets were secured at Eldoret Central Police Station for ballistic analysis .
Detectives have launched an investigation aimed at tracing the sender. The boda boda rider who delivered the parcel is currently assisting in the probe.
However, the would-be sender remains elusive—his phone has since been switched off, and no note or message accompanied the parcel .
Fingerprints have been collected from the digits to ascertain identity and determine whether the body part is connected to a homicide or mutilation case . Law enforcement has not ruled out foul play or flash mob intimidation as a motive.
The psychological terror alone is monumental, unsettling not only the recipient, but the entire community. As the case unfolds, Eldoret residents demand answers. How could such a perverse and chilling package traverse from unknown sender to victim so seamlessly?
What hidden message does it carry—and who dares to deliver it?This horrifying saga raises urgent questions about public safety, the black market for human remains, and the chilling lengths criminals will go to terrorize their targets.
