Cracks in Kuppet.

Cracks have surfaced within the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers Kuppet. The National Executive Board (NEB) decided to end a two-week teachers’ strike without consulting the union’s top decision-making body.

This move has sparked discontent among branch officials across all 47 counties, who feel excluded from the decision-making process.

The decision to call off the strike without involving the union’s top governing council has caused divisions within Kuppet. Branch officials from various counties are expressing dissatisfaction.

They feel left out of the decision-making process. This has led to widespread disapproval among them.

The National Governing Council of Kuppet is led by Secretary General Akelo Misori. They addressed journalists at the Sportsview Hotel on September 1, 2024.

The move to end the strike without consulting the union’s top decision-making organ has raised concerns. It has also highlighted internal divisions within the organization.

The situation within Kuppet reflects a lack of consensus and communication between the National Executive Board and branch officials.

This indicates a need for better coordination and inclusivity in decision-making processes. These measures are essential to prevent further divisions and discontent within the union.
