Panic and mayhem erupted on Sunday after a swarm of angry bees wreaked havoc at an accident site along the Kathiani-Machakos road, viciously attacking Good Samaritans and firefighters trying to save victims from a crashed matatu.
The 14-seater van had lost control at a deadly bend near Kwa Kakonzi, slamming into a tree before overturning. As bystanders and rescue teams rushed in, they were met with an unexpected nightmare—an aggressive bee invasion!
Stunned and under siege, rescuers were forced to retreat as the relentless swarm stung anyone in sight. Firefighters from Machakos County had to resort to extreme measures, blasting water from their hoses to drive the insects away and regain control of the scene.

Mumbuni Senior Chief Mathew Mulee confirmed the bizarre incident, explaining, “The vehicle veered off at a sharp corner, hit a tree, and overturned.”
Luckily, despite the terrifying bee ambush, the passengers escaped with only minor injuries and were swiftly taken to the hospital.
Though the winged attackers delayed rescue efforts, authorities confirmed that no severe injuries were reported—except, of course, for the unlucky victims of the bee assault!
