Cabinet Divided as CS Justin Muturi Criticizes Ruto’s Government Over Abductions

President William Ruto’s Cabinet appears to be divided regarding the ongoing abductions in the country. While some members seem indifferent to the abduction of Kenyans who criticize Ruto and other leaders, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development Justin Muturi has taken a firm stance against these actions.

Muturi condemned the government for its lax approach towards the ongoing abductions and for downplaying their frequency. During his remarks in Embu, he urged the government to acknowledge its shortcomings across all sectors, including those related to abductions.

“There can never be a situation where the government claims it is unaware of what is happening. We must take responsibility for our inefficiencies where they have been highlighted or where incidents have occurred,” said the CS.

Highlighting recent incidents where six youths went missing during the Christmas holiday, Muturi criticized the government for claiming ignorance regarding these developments and the individuals behind them.

“We cannot ignore the fact that young lives have been taken and assert that we do not know who is responsible. We cannot claim ignorance. We are the government,” the CS added.

Since the emergence of these abductions, there has been a significant amount of blame-shifting among leaders and relevant stakeholders.
