Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has sensationally alleged that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is scheming to have him arrested in a politically motivated move to silence him.
Speaking at a public gathering on Thursday, March 27, the fiery lawmaker declared that highly placed sources had tipped him off about a covert plan hatched by top government officials to pressure him into submission. According to Owino, EACC detectives are set to storm his Donholm office this week or next in a bid to frame him on corruption charges.
“I have it on good authority that EACC officers are planning to raid my office, arrest me, and peddle corruption claims just to tarnish my name,” Owino revealed.

The MP dismissed accusations that he attempted to bribe Auditor General Nancy Gathungu to manipulate Embakasi East’s audit report, branding them as baseless propaganda.
He further warned EACC against being used as a political weapon, urging them to remain independent and professional.
“EACC, you are supposed to be an autonomous body, not a puppet of the government. My office is always open—come anytime if you want the truth,” he asserted.
Owino, a vocal government critic, vowed to stand firm and continue serving his constituents despite what he termed as intimidation tactics by the state.
