The upcoming ‘Nane Nane March,’ organized by Kenya’s youth, or Gen Z, is a statewide demonstration planned to force the resignation of President William Ruto and his administration.
The young Kenyans have called on everyone to stay at home on August 8, 2024, since it is a public holiday, using the hashtag #NaneNaneMarch.
On that day, the Gen Zs stated they would assemble at Nairobi’s Central Business District and wave signs calling on Ruto to step down. They want to march to the State House to compel him to step down if he refuses.
Through a variety of social media channels, young people have also cautioned matatu drivers and Boda Boda riders against being duped by politicians into taking over the demonstrations.
Additionally, the youth have asked Nairobians to host those traveling from rural areas so they can be ready for next Thursday’s “1 Million March” to the State House.
