Ruto Sparks National Debate with Bold Promise—”I Will Deliver Everything in My Manifesto”

President William Ruto has vowed to fulfill every promise outlined in his campaign manifesto, insisting that no commitment made to the people of Kenya will be left undone.

Speaking at a public event, Ruto dismissed rising concerns over unmet pledges and economic challenges, assuring Kenyans that his administration remains firmly on track to deliver what he called a “comprehensive transformation agenda.”

His statement comes amid growing public frustration over the high cost of living, rising taxes, and youth unemployment.“I want to assure every Kenyan—what we promised, we will deliver.

We are not going back on our word,” Ruto declared, doubling down on his commitment to what he termed as the “Plan” that won him the presidency.

This assertion, however, has drawn sharp criticism from opposition leaders, policy analysts, and sections of the public, many of whom argue that key promises—such as lowering the cost of living, creating millions of jobs, and fixing the healthcare system—remain far from reality nearly two years into his term.

Political observers have called the President’s latest remarks both “courageous and controversial,” warning that his continued insistence on fulfilling a deeply ambitious agenda may set the stage for heightened public scrutiny and possible political fallout if outcomes remain slow.

Azimio la Umoja leaders quickly hit back, accusing the government of engaging in political theatrics while ordinary Kenyans suffer. “Let him come to the ground and see the pain.

Promises don’t feed people,” said a vocal opposition MP.Civil society groups have also weighed in, urging the President to publish a public progress report outlining which manifesto promises have been achieved, which are underway, and which remain stalled.

Transparency advocates argue that vague reassurances without measurable outcomes only deepen public skepticism.

Meanwhile, Ruto’s allies have rallied behind him, defending his track record so far and pointing to developments in housing, digitization of services, and infrastructure projects as signs of progress. “This is a long-term game.

The fruits will show soon,” a UDA senator remarked.Despite the assurances, the political heat is rising as Kenyans continue to demand immediate action on pressing issues like food prices, unemployment, education funding, and taxation.

Many citizens say they are struggling to reconcile the optimism of Ruto’s words with the reality of life on the ground.

As public pressure mounts, all eyes are now on the Kenya Kwanza government to prove that its promises are not just campaign rhetoric but achievable commitments.

Whether Ruto’s bold pledge will inspire national confidence or deepen public doubt remains to be seen.
