Ruto pays Tribute to Former Namibia president Nujoma

President William Ruto expressed condolences to the family of Dr. Sam Nujoma, the founding President of independent Namibia. In his tribute, Ruto hailed Nujoma as a selfless, courageous, and visionary leader, recognizing him as a hero of Africa.

Ruto emphasized Nujoma’s lifelong commitment to Namibia’s liberation and development, standing in solidarity with the Namibian people during this time of mourning.

He extended his prayers for comfort to Nujoma’s family and friends, stating, “Our thoughts and love are with the family and the people of Namibia at this time of grief. Rest In Peace, Africa’s hero! ”

President Nangola Mbumba announced Nujoma’s death on Saturday at the age of 95 in Windhoek, following a three-week hospitalization.

Nujoma was instrumental in Namibia’s fight for independence from South Africa in 1990 and served as president from 1990 to 2005, remaining active in politics until 2007.
