Kenyan MPs Shift Allegiance from Gachagua to Kindiki
Friday, September 13, 2024 saw 48 Mt. Kenya MPs renounce Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as their spokesperson. They instead endorse Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki as their new leader.
This decision was reached after a meeting in Nyahururu, Nyandarua County. At the meeting, they criticized Gachagua for attempting to isolate the Mt. Kenya region from the rest of the country with his tribal unity rhetoric.
