Journalist Stephen Letoo’s Home Attacked at Night.

Stephen Letoo, a senior journalist at Citizen TV, reported that his rural home in Narok County was attacked. Unknown individuals carried out the attack around 2:00 am. The attacks, perceived as threats to his life and family, involved stones being thrown at his compound and house. Letoo knew the attackers’ identities.

Despite this, the incidents persisted. He spoke out against the lack of response from nearby General Service Unit (GSU) officers.

In an earlier incident in September 2023, Letoo’s vehicle was broken into, with valuables stolen. The police have not yet issued a statement about the recent attacks on his home. Letoo’s public call for protection and accountability underscores the gravity of the situation. His resolve is to safeguard his family and uphold his professional responsibilities.

The ongoing attacks on Letoo’s home have raised concerns about his safety. There is a need for swift action to tackle the threats he and his family face. Despite the lack of response from local authorities, Letoo remains resolute in his stance against intimidation.

He has vowed to take steps to guarantee the safety and security of his loved ones. The incidents serve as a stark reminder of the risks journalists often face in the line of duty. They also underscore the importance of protecting press freedom and personal safety.
