National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah has broken silence after he was nicknamed ‘muka wa Ruto’ (wife of Ruto).
Speaking on Friday, June 21 Ichung’wah wondered why netizens were nicknaming him President William Ruto’s wife.
The Kikuyu MP noted that he is President William Ruto’s ally in the National Assembly adding that he does not resemble First Lady Rachel Ruto.
“You know that I am a close associate of our President William Ruto in the parliament, but I hear some people on social media have started calling me Ruto’s wife. When you look at me, do I look like Mama Rachel? My face looks like an upside-down shoe,” said Ichung’wah.
The National Assembly Majority leader was nicknamed the name muka wa Ruto by users on the X platform for supporting everything that President Ruto says.
Ichung’wah was also accused of being used to pass ‘retrogressive’ bills in the National Assembly.Meanwhile, Ichung’wah slammed the youths who took to the streets to protest on Thursday saying they don’t know the problems of other people.
“Many of those you see demonstrating in Nairobi, holding iPhones and calling themselves Gen Z, arrive at the protests in Ubers, and after the protests, they go to KFC to eat chicken and drink milkshakes. They use bottled water and don’t know what it means to experience a power outage,” the Kikuyu MP claimed.
Ichung’wah further alleged that people in the government wanted to blackmail President Ruto to give them money meant for the refurbishment of their offices.
“Those inciters wanted to blackmail President Ruto to give them personal money for the refurbishment of their offices, money to buy a carpet worth forty million,” he claimed.
