Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed profound sadness over the death of Malulu Injendi, the Member of Parliament for Malava Constituency.
In a heartfelt message on X, Gachagua referred to Injendi as a composed leader who genuinely cared for his community.
The former Deputy President also emphasized Injendi’s strong faith and commitment to serving the residents of Malava.

“The late Malulu Injendi, MP for Malava Constituency, was a calm and composed leader with the community’s best interests at heart. He was a deeply religious man,” Gachagua stated.
“His passing has created a significant void in his family and the Malava Constituency. ”
Gachagua reflected on his friendship with Injendi during their tenure in the 12th Parliament, sharing his sorrow over the loss.
“Injendi was my close friend during our time in the 12th Parliament. I am deeply saddened by his death; my heartfelt condolences go to his family and the people of Malava Constituency and the wonderful people of the Western Kenya Region. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
Malulu passed away on Monday while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
Malulu was the MP for Malava Constituency and served as the Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research.
Injendi was in his third term as an MP, having been continuously elected since 2013 (11th Parliament).
Tributes have been pouring in from fellow lawmakers, constituents, and leaders across the political spectrum.
President William Ruto referred to MP Malulu as a hard-working, focused, and dedicated leader throughout his various leadership roles.
“I am saddened by the death of a friend and colleague, Mheshimiwa Malulu Injendi. He was a remarkable leader who selflessly served the people of Malava Constituency. A proponent of equal opportunities, Mheshimiwa was diligent, focused, and devoted to public service,” the President shared on X.
Saboti MP Caleb Amisi expressed his condolences to Injendi’s family, friends, and constituents.
“Mhesh has rested. Farewell, Malulu. My sympathies go to the family and his constituents. ”
ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale tweeted, “Hon. Injendi Malulu, a kind soul. It is well. ”
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah mourned Malulu as both a friend and colleague.
