Former President Moi’s Daughter Dies.

The family of the late former President Daniel Torotich Arap Moi has announced the passing of June Chebet Moi.

The deceased was the late President Moi’s daughter. According to a statement shared by the family, Chebet has passed on at the age of 60.

In a statement, the family did not immediately disclose the cause of her death. However, they requested privacy to mourn their departed kin.

“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing on of our beloved, June Chebet Moi this morning. At this time of grief, we request your prayers and privacy as we the family come to terms with the tragic loss of our sister,” the statement read in part.”May her soul rest in eternal peace,” it added.

Before her demise, Chebet managed to keep a low profile. She rarely made news as she kept her life off the public limelight.

She attended the Nairobi Primary School and later proceeded to the Kenya High School for her secondary education. Chebet later moved to Canada for her university education.

After school, Chebet reportedly focused on land and property development.

Her siblings included Jennifer Chemutai Kositany, Doris Elizabeth Chepkorir, Jonathan Moi, Raymond Moi, Philip Moi, John Mark Moi and Gideon Moi.

Gideon Moi and Raymond Moi are the ones who have remained in politics.
