Tragic Bus Accident Claims Three Lives on Londiani-Kisumu Road

Three individuals have died as a result of an early morning bus accident on the Londiani-Kisumu Road.

Kericho County Traffic Enforcement Officer Selina Chirchir reported that the bus lost control while navigating a bend around 4 am on Saturday, January 11.

The vehicle subsequently veered off the road and overturned.

Tragically, three people, including a child, died at the scene. Their remains were transported to the Londiani Mortuary for preservation.

Additionally, over ten passengers sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police and rescue teams were promptly dispatched to assist with evacuation efforts.

The traffic department is expected to conduct further investigations into the accident.

In light of the recent spike in accidents during and after the festive season, motorists have been advised to exercise increased caution on the roads.

According to NTSA data, over 1,000 people lost their lives in road accidents in 2024.
