Abducted 20-Year-Old Woman Resurfaces at Police

Clare Adindo Odhiambo, a 20-year-old woman whose images circulated on social media as a missing person after her supposed ‘abduction,’ has voluntarily appeared at the DCI offices in Kibra, Nairobi County.

As per the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Claire clarified that despite her images being featured in the viral TikTok posts, her name was not Naomi, contrary to the claims made by the post’s author.

Adindo, according to the DCI, rejected the allegations of her abduction as untrue.

“The DCI wishes to further emphasize that abduction and/or kidnapping is a grave offense punishable by law, and the DCI does not endorse any form of abductions or kidnappings since these actions infringe upon essential human rights and compromise the rule of law,” states the DCI.

The social media post asserted that Adindo was among the social media influencers who had recently been abducted. The ‘false’ post claimed she was taken in Ruaka, Kiambu County. Internet users had called for her release using the hashtag FreeNaomi.

The DCI stresses its commitment to thoroughly investigating all claims of such crimes and ensuring that those accountable are brought to justice.

“It is crucial for the community to collaborate in reporting any suspicious behavior to assist in the fight against crime and safeguard the rights of all citizens,” the DCI encourages Kenyans.
