Gachagua Snubs Uhuru’s Offer After Alleged 4-Hour Hotel Snub

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reportedly declined former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s invitation to join the struggling Jubilee Party following his removal from President William Ruto’s UDA.

Sources indicate that Gachagua rejected Uhuru’s proposal to join, revitalize, and rebrand the ailing Jubilee Party.

This development follows an incident in which Uhuru allegedly refused to meet Gachagua after making him wait for four hours at a hotel.

Additionally, it is reported that Uhuru intended to endorse Gachagua as the Mt. Kenya kingpin during Reverend Peter Kimani’s ordination in Embu on Saturday, November 16, but these plans were abruptly canceled, possibly due to Ruto’s confirmation of his attendance.

Gachagua has stated his intention to make his next political move in January 2025, contingent upon the court’s ruling on his impeachment case.

This strategy aims to maintain the influence of the former second-in-command within the political arena.

In the 2022 General Election, Gachagua actively opposed Uhuru’s Jubilee Party, which is part of the Azimio coalition, while campaigning alongside William Ruto under the Kenya Kwanza platform.

Should the court rule in his favor, the former deputy president is reportedly inclined to establish his own political party to further his agenda rather than joining Uhuru’s Jubilee.
